Samaria Safaris is situated on the banks of the majestic Limpopo River in the Northern Province of South Africa, directly opposite the Tuli Block in Botswana, home to approximately 1400 Tuli Elephant. The region is world renowned for its archaeological history and our property is ideally situated for exploring these sites. This area is famous for its spectacular sunsets, its interesting birds and vegetation. We have a wide variety of animal species and are visited by migrant elephants from across the river. Apart from the Samaria property, we have vast and varied concession areas all within an hour or two of camp. Samaria itself, has a uniquely diverse topography, with its riverine forest, mopane woodland, mixed thornveld, Kalahari sandveld and sandstone outcrops. On the whole, winters in the region are mild, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 6°C to a maximum of 30°C (April to August).
The area lies at an altitude of between 500m and 700m above sea level.
